Good (U.S), cheap, warm, beachy place to travel after Christmas?

My boyfriend and I were wanting to plan a trip the day after Christmas through Jan 2. (We had other plans, but they fell through..long story) These are the only days we can squeeze in some vacation time due to work and school schedules. We are looking for an affordable warm weather place we can vacation at maybe 4-7 days. Our budget for airfare and hotel is about 1800. We are flying out of CVG. We like to be entertained, but also like to relax and have quiet time, too. He likes to fish, I like to golf and of course swim, we both like water sports, and anything to do with nature. Any ideas? Any nice places, like where to go in FL would be appreciated. Thanks!
P.S- I’m pretty sure Iraq isn’t in the U.S. been there-done that.

Unfortunately that week is a peak travel time for vacation resorts. That means you’ll find fewer cheap deals. Even airfare is inflated this year.

Puerto Rico would be a good option but 5 day packages are a little over your budget for that week. Miami is probably your best bet in your price range. That time of year it might not be hot beach weather but it should be mild. It’s really hit or miss.

I recommend checking hotel reviews at http://www.tripadvisor.com Lots of people write in with reviews. It can help you decide whether a bargain hotel package is a great find or a hotel that everyone hates.
